Randall Higgins

Hi, I'm Dr. Randall Higgins, a pharmacist & medical researcher based out of New York City. I have been a licensed pharmacist for over a decade and have extensive experience in the dermatology, oncology, men’s health, and infusion pharmacy spaces.

I received my Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2011, and have spent the last six years creating content to help acne-sufferers safely heal their skin issues through both natural and pharmaceutical means.

As a teenager, I dealt with my fair share of skin problems and spent thousands of dollars on different skincare products and supplements trying to clear my acne. When I got into my 20s I learned the hard lesson that not all acne goes away after your teenage years.

During pharmacy school I spent hours researching the chemistry of the skin and how different herbal and pharmaceutical compounds can be used to alter both inflammation levels and oil production. During this time I successfully cleared my acne through a combination of nutrition, supplementation, and non-comedogenic skincare products.

Throughout the course of my research I came across GoodGlow and found its information extremely useful in clearing my own acne (particularly the nutrition aspect). Shortly after this I messaged Sam with some of my own findings and decided to join the team as a medical reviewer!

When writing about acne or jumping headfirst into a Wikipedia rabbit hole, I love doing anything outdoors—kayaking, hiking, camping, even yard work. I recently took up sailing and have the sunburn to prove it! My hobbies are a little all over the place but I love doing this with my hands especially working on cars, woodworking, programming, cooking, and playing guitar.
